The following applies to all loans: Check carefully whether you are dependent on financing. A loan always brings with it a "mountain of debt", which must be repaid after graduation. Loans from public institutions usually offer better conditions because they are not designed for profit taking.

Yes, students who cannot cover their living expenses with their BAföG funding have the opportunity to improve their financial situation with loans and credits. Before you decide to take such a step, you should absolutely check whether you have exhausted all other financing possibilities or whether there is enough time for a job besides studying.

When all other possibilities for financing your studies have been exhausted, our social counselling centre will inform you about the extensive range of loans and credits on offer and point out what you need to look out for. We advise you independently and always in the interest of the student!
